Copacabana is located to 156 Km. from the City of La Paz at an altitude of 3820 m.a.s.l. This town has permanently been a center of tourism and pilgrimage. The town is built around the spectacular Cathedral of Copacabana. The center of attraction in there is the image of the called VirgenMorena. Also visit the sacred Isla del Sol and also the mysterious ruins of the fountain ofeternal youth.
Overview
The tour start in La Paz, the transport from La Paz to Copacabana is in a shared Tourist bus La Paz – Copacabana – La Paz or Puno (If you are heading to Peru, you can take the bus to Puno instead of going back to La Paz), we use a shared boat to go to the Isla del sol and an English speaking guide will be with you during the tour. In this tour you will have food included (2 Lunches, 1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast, we also have veggie options) Entrance fees are included and one night in a hotel in Sun Island.

Itinerary
At about 7:30 a.m. we depart from La Paz, traveling in a northwesterly direction through the Altiplano, on the road you will see an impressive view of the Cordillera Real as well as the world famous Lake Titicaca, after about three hours and a half, we will arrive to this friendly town of Copacabana. We will take lunch in there and then we will visit the imposing Cathedral of Copacabana, the village market and the streets where you can find varied handicrafts. We will spend the night in a Hotel in Copacabana.
We get up early and after breakfast we will continue our journey sailing on the waters of the world’s highest navigable lake, and in the southern part of the sacred Isla del Sol we will visit two landmarks: Yumani, an area where we find the source of water that is famous and apparently guarantees eternal youth and Pilcocaina area where we will find mysterious Inca ruins. We will have lunch in there and then we will go back to Copacabana to then head head back to La Paz.
Alternatively, if you prefer we can arrange the bus ticket to Puno (Peru) instead.
