Pampas means wetlands. It is a flat broad plateau where, in a huge area, there is only one river. That’s the reason why all animals from the Pampas go to Yacuma River for water.
We will take you there, where lots of birds, monkeys, turtles, caimans, and the amazing Bufeo (pink dolphin) can be seen on a beautiful 3 day Tour.
OVERVIEW
The tour start from Rurrenabaque, the Transportation will be in jeep and motor boat, you will have an English speaking guide. In the 3 days we will provide all food except Breakfast on first day and dinner on last day, If you are vegetarian no worries, we have veggie options.
The accommodation for the two nights will be in the same lodges with mosquito nets, beds with basic mattress, sheet and cover. Private rooms are available if you book de tour in advance.
We will provide Plastic Boots and bottles of water.

Itinerary
After meeting in the office at 8:30am we will travel by 4×4 Jeep from Rurrenabaque to Santa Rosa. During the trip you will be able to see local families and lots of flora and fauna in the steaming lowlands of the Bolivian Amazon. Lunch will be served in Santa Rosa.
As soon as we get to the port we will jump on the motorized wooden boat and start sailing upstream the river towards the campsite. The ride will take between 2 to 3 hours approx. During this navigation of this wildlife rich river you will be able to observe a large variety of reptiles and amphibians, crocodiles, turtles, caimans, monkeys, capybaras, falcons, hawks and eagles—we will sail until our Eco-lodge. Lodging-Coffee, herbal teas will be served.
One and one-half hour night sailing trip by canoe in search of caiman and anacondas to observe how the eyes of these wildlife animals shine at night, we could also see other night birds like hawks.
After breakfast you will go onto a hike through the Pampas to reach some small lagoons and rivers where is probable for you to see anacondas and snakes. You will observe some eagles in search for food, usually snakes. There is a vast selection of tropical plants and flowers. We will then have lunch.
We board a canoe for an exploration of this wildlife rich river, you will see pink dolphins; you’ll have a chance to swim with them. You will also see turtles, capybaras and many large water birds flamingos. If you like to fish, this is your opportunity to catch some piranhas as well.
We will get up early for bird watching, we will then go on a boat trip for about one and a half hour to see the sunrise and listen to a symphony of birds signing. You will also hear some parrots, macaws, guans, brown capuchin monkeys.
Breakfast and then we will travel by canoe on the Yacuma River until we reach some small forest islands – along the shores you will see wild geese, neo-tropical cormorants, toucans, swamp deer’s, caimans. Your tour guide will share some acknowledge of the surroundings while you encounter and enjoy a vast diversity of animal life. He will also share with you information on plants and their medicinal uses.
After we will have lunch and then return to Santa Rosa, we will sail for the last time in the Yacuma River and we will get on the 4×4 Jeep for the Journey back from Santa Rosa to Rurrenabaque.
